God's Simple Plan of Salvation
If you were to die today do you know for sure that you would go to Heaven? If you are not 100% certain that you have a home in Heaven when you die, then there is something you should know!
"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." 1 John 5:13
Recognize We Are All Sinners
"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23
No one is good enough to reach Heaven solely based on their own merits. Isaiah 64:6 says, "all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags." Regardless of the amount of good we do throughout our life, we still fall short of perfection.
Understand There is a Penalty for Sin
"For the wages of sin is death..." Romans 3:23
God, being a perfect and righteous judge, cannot allow sin to enter Heaven. The wages of our sin, or what we deserve, is death, and eternal separation from God in Hell.
Realize Jesus Paid the Price
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
But God - these two little words change everything. Because of God's immense love for us, He sent His Son Jesus Christ to earth to pay the penalty by dying on the cross. Then, three days later, Jesus rose from the dead - proving that He is God, and that He alone has the power to forgive us and save us from eternal death. We do not have to go to Hell forever because Jesus Christ took our place.
Confess and Call Upon The Lord
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:9
To go to Heaven, we must put our faith completely in Jesus and His sacrifice for us on the cross. Confess sin to God with sincerity, and start following Jesus Christ, striving to live more like Him each day.
Receive Jesus as Your Personal Lord and Savior Today
and Be Sure of Your Home in Heaven When You Die
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13
If you want to call upon Christ and receive Him as your Savior today, you can pray a prayer like the one below. Realize that it's not the words that save you, but the sincerity behind your prayer to God: "Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner, and I deserve Hell for my sin. Jesus, please forgive me of my sins, come into my heart, and save me. I'm putting my faith and trust in You alone to take me to Heaven when I die. Thank you for dying for me and thank you for saving me."
